Data Sources
FitFlexer checks whether a workout took place at a gym by comparing your location with a list of gyms and fitness studios. That list is built from the open datasets below, plus gyms our members suggest. The app shows the source of each gym beside it.
Gym and fitness studio locations in the United States come from the Places theme of Overture Maps Foundation, updated monthly. Places is available under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive, Version 2.0. We keep only US places in fitness categories, and store each one's name, location, address, category, brand, operating status and source.
Overture's Places theme includes data from these providers:
| Provider | License |

| Meta, Microsoft, PinMeTo, Krick, RenderSEO, DAC, BrightQuery | CDLA Permissive 2.0 |
| Foursquare | Apache License 2.0, with the notice below |

Our changes: Foursquare data reaches us inside Overture’s Places theme, where Overture transformed it to the Overture schema. We keep only US places in fitness categories with Overture confidence 0.7 or higher, map each category to a FitFlexer fitness type, and use the result only to tell whether a workout took place at a gym. We make no other changes.
When the app can’t find a gym where you work out, you can suggest one. We review every suggestion before it can count for anyone’s workouts. An approved gym is shown as “Added by FitFlexer members” and is not linked to the person who suggested it. See the Privacy Policy for what we keep with a suggestion and for how long.
The exercise library, including its instructions and images, uses licensed ExerciseDB data.
